Jumbotron Replays

Is there a conference rule against showing replays of plays that are being challenged? It's weird to stand there waiting to see a replay that never comes.

Yes, there is a new rule against showing replays of something thatis being challenged. It is so home teams do not get an advantage by seeing their replays before deciding to challenge or not.

Yeah, but sometimes a replay can be shown before it's known a challenge will take place.

I say shown 'em all.

I think this rule shows how sure the conference in of their ref's calls. There is absolutely no reason they shouldn't show the replays of challenged plays, even less other plays. If you think there is, please inform me.

You are correct in that a replay cannot be shown WHILE a play is being reviewed. You can show a replay of any play as often as you want BEFORE it is being reviewed. This has been one of my biggest disapointments with Ford is that they do not show enough replays - controversial calls, big hits, touchdowns, etc, that would get the home crowd energized and loud.

this doesnt make sense... games that actually are televised show the replays over and over again during the review, which means everyone in a box or suite could see it, along with coaches who are upstairs

I think they should show replays of every play in between plays. No one can claim an unfair advantage that way. CSTV all access does that, btw.

Of course it doesn't make sense ... it is an NCAA rule. While they can watch the replay in their booths, we all know they won't put down their cocktails to complain - or be heard behind the glass.
