Tax free day at the Spirit Shop

Most of the merchandise is tax free this weekend. In addition, they have a BIG sale on alot of existing merchandise.

SMU Bookstore has a terrific selection of Mustang gear. Looks like they're gonna try to unload the old white miniature helmets before they bust out the new Navy ones. Worth the trip.

the one on mockingbird. there is no 'bookstore' on campus, just the spirit shop inside ford stadium.

Understand, it is the athletic department's desire that all purchases be made at the Spirit Shop. In the long run, this will help the athletic department most.

Why's that? It's my understanding that the Spirit Shop is not officially tied with the school, and rents space in Ford Stadium. Can the school officially endorse a particular vendor? I would think the Bookstore has as much affiliation with the school as the Spirit Shop does.
