That's pretty bad, when you consider they had won five in a row going into that game.

An alumni band member told me this afternoon (after the game) that neither the Mustang Band nor the Alumni Band will be in attendance at the Rice game. That sucks. Surely there's a deep-pocketed alum/fan out there somewhere who can 'pony up' the $$$ to send either the Mustang Band or at least the Alumni Band!

Does the fact that students will be on holiday break have something to do with the Mustang Band not going, too?

By the way, you just know that the Marching Owl Band (The MOB) will have something cooked up for halftime.

As for being in attendance: ARE YOU FRIGGIN' KIDDING ME? AIN'T NO FRIGGIN' WAY AM I MISSING THIS GAME UNLESS I AM DEAD!

BornRed&Blue, the Twins, RedRaiderSweetheart and I will make the 'road trip' to Houston on Saturday morning.

We have a bunch of family coming for Thanksgiving. So I'll say a prayer, thank them all for coming, then I'm hitting the road on friday for Houston whether they remain or not. Hey Houston alumni, don't miss this game.

Ughhhh! I'd make the 4-hour trip to Houston next weekend, but we're moving into our new house the following week and will be packing. Who knows, I may still try to sneak away.

We go to a bowl game, though, I'd cancel Christmas if I have to.

I'll be there. Of course I live there now. I have been in contact with the Mustang Club and we will have a tent at the rice game. I will be bringing my pit and fryer. Plan to fry a couple of "owls" for the game in honor of Turkey Day. We will have turkey, beer, and plenty of fans that have believed in this team from the beginning. I feel like a RedSox fan. I have been watching/playing SMU Football for 12 years(I'm 25), so that is almost half of my life. I know that I havent been waiting as long as some of you, but yesterday was incredible. See all of you at rice, and then New Orleans. Go Stangs.

I will at the game.

Is anyone also going to the pre-game brunch?

Our pre-game brunch will most likely be in the Suburban enroute to Houston after a stop at the McDonald's in Fairfield, TX on Saturday.

Make sure you go to the Omni and not the Briar Club as the location was changed thanks to the overwhelming response! Hopefully everyones makes it to the game though!

There is a healthy chunk of bandsmen going to the game, but we can't go as an official group, i.e. no horns. I'll be blowing the [it would've been deleted anyways] out of my plastic red horn though.

When you have your regular McDonald's location along any route, you have traveled that route too many times 8)

Traveled I-45 alot when I was attending Sam Houston State in the 1970s and when I was traveling back-and-forth from Houston to Dallas while dating BornRed&Blue. Sadly, the majority of the Dairy Queens along I-45 have now gone out of business. That's where I used to stop.

By the way, best of luck to the Calallen Mustangs in their playoff game against Beeville this weekend! Hope ya'll come away with a 'W'! :)
