CUSAbbs: Coker to SMU

Rumors have started about Coker to SMU in the coaching circles.

This rumor makes the most sense when you consider Orsini's other hires.

Coker runs a clean program and graduates his players...looking to prove himself after Miami...has recruiting ties in Texas.

Damn, I called that one...Seriously though, Coker would be a great fit, the UM players are really hurt to see him leave and he still have the national championship ring to flash at recruits.

Top rated Prep player in the nation is reconsidering his pledge to UM because Coker isn't there. Not saying he will sign with us, but testament to how much the recruits and players liked Coker.

Yeah right now the giant carousel is going around and we will see at the end of the day...we still don't even have a vacancy to be filled.

But Coker would be awesome!

Not sure Coker is the right guy but he does have an impressive record.

Wins: 59
Losses: 15

Coker, 58, won more games in his first six seasons than any
other Hurricanes coach except Dennis Erickson, and he has won
more games since 2001 than all but five Division I-A coaches.

Coker's 59-15 record is a winning percentage of nearly 80 percent.

When fired by Miami Coker had three years remaining on
a contract that pays him nearly $2 million annually, and the
school will owe him between $2.4 million and $3 million in a buyout.

defeated the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 37-14 in the Rose Bowl.

One year later in Coker's second season the Hurricanes lost to
Ohio State in double overtime in the title game.
