It is hard to believe by the twelfth game of the year, we could come out looking like the key stone cops. We still make so many mistakes, the amount of kicking penalties are pitiful. It was a shock to see so many SMU fans though.

...consider this: Rice pulls in only 12,867 fans for a game with BOWL IMPLICATIONS in a stadium that seats 60,000+ ? That just sucks.

That little fan support, awful stadium/facilities, similar (i say similar bc I am unsure of the exact relationship to SMU) academic standards, first year head coach after a 1-10 season, and MISSING THEIR STARTING QB and they still beat SMU on the way to their first bowl. Yet some people on this board feel its absolute lunacy to even consider firing Phil.

Also I have a question. For those in the know just how serious was Rice about dropping their football program? I know it was within the last couple of years, but just not sure how close their administration was to actually doing it.
