5-7 is a disaster.
6-6 is, unfortunately, very realistic.
7-5 is very probable. This is 4-4 in conference, same as last year.
8-4 is possible. This is 5-3 in confernence.
9-3 is wishful thinking (but within the realm of possibilities depending on other teams' injuries and our QB development).
We have to go 8-4 to get a bowl bid.
Everyone quit fooling themselves that 7-5 (4-4, tied for 6th place) will get us a bid in CUSA bowl.

it pains me to say this, but i'm afraid there's a loss in there somewhere.
i would love to be proven wrong.
If SMU loses to Sam Houston State, a lot of folks on this board will be calling for Bennett's head on a spike.

To be honest, and no disrespect to you and your team MM65..but if SHSU comes even close to us (10 points or less), a lot of folks will be calling for Bennett's head.

No more excuses, these are his players, his coaches and his schedule. Bennett is in change and make all the decisions.

I hate to put too much stock into one game, but my guess is that is we get blown out at Tech, this team will struggle to find 6 wins. Play Tech tough...win or lose...and I can see 7-8 wins this year. Pull off the huge upset at Tech, and these guys go on to win at least 8 games, play in a bowl and suddenly BCS schools are interested in Bennett.

CP..where have you been? It is sort of funny to think..we get blown out by TT..say 45 - 14, win 6 of our next 11 and it is "success"....I am not happy with 6-6, as has been predicted.....I'm at LEAST a 7-5 guy this season, maybe, but we really need to go 8-4, it is C-usa after all....

I have same sentiments. Don't suffer an aTm defeat of last year, or we lose to Tulanes again.
Had we scored instead of fumbled at the end of the first half, we would have been down 17-15 having given them 7 points...not that we win, but we don't go into the locker room defeated at half.

My first thoughts were 8-4, which I wouldn't be surprised to see, but likely the Ponies will go 7-5.

at TT - Loss, and ends up looking pretty bad because we give up points late. North Texas - Win, but it will be close because the team will be shell shocked after the Tech game. SHS - Win Ark St - Win at Tulane - We are coming off three wins in a row, they are coming off geting killed by LSU. That is why I will predict a win. at UTEP - Loss Marshall - win, they will struggle to move the ball on us. at ECU - Return a lot of players, and it is away, so loss. UAB - very similar to us - return a lot of players, except at QB, lots of close games last year with the same record. Toss up, but I will say win at home. Houston - we either lose this or Tulsa. I say we lose to Tulsa. Win Tulsa - Loss, see above. at Rice - Final game of the season. They are going to go through what Bennett did in his 0-12 season - try plugging people who don't fit into a new system. They will be better by the end of the year, but this should be a win.
That puts us at 8-4, but we could easily go 6-6. It will most likely come down to the Rice game to decide if we go to a bowl game or not.
dude, you look like a genius.
