I don't want to get into the Bennett situation. That is for Orsini to decide. I will throw in my 2 cents and say that I think Orsini wants to put his stamp on the football program and make a big-time hire (ala Doh). That said if Miami is our "model" need I say more.
BTW congrats to the Fightin' Texas Aggies who rode that steer Bevo into the ground. Best of luck to Colt. He obviously wasn't himself the entire game. Mack shouldn't have played him. Yeah it was a cheap shot after the 3rd int but the last hit was just a hard hit. At that point Colt really had no business in the game.

The Miami model has become "fire the coach".

There's no such thing as a Texas Aggie.

68, Aggies refer to themselves as Fightin't Texas Aggies. Aggies actually respect UT as an academic institution although they would probably not say it in public. Go Sooners! Is it ok to say Sooners?

Apparently you don't know many Aggies. The ones I know, save the guy I work with who is the most un-Aggie Ag I've ever known, have supreme inferiority complexes and everything they do is in comparison to UT. Hell, it's in their fight song.
I'll be pulling for NU in the Big XII Champ game. Although Stoops showed yet again this year why he is one of the best coaches in Div-1A football.

The Aggies definitely hate UT but rerspect it as an academic institution. They also hate TT and don't respect it as an academic institution. See the difference? I know lots os Aggies and they are all very happy.

It is kinda funny how their fight song focuses on beating UT and no one else. I laugh when they sing about sawing off horns even when they are not playing UT.

It's kinda like when the USC band plays "Tusk," at a certain point in the song the fans yell "UCLA sucks." Doesn't matter who they're playing...
BEAT UCLA
GO MUSTANGS!
FIGHT ON!

The Miami model was espoused by nother than the great Phil Bennett at his first news conference. He told of the entire model in Paul Harvey style..."let me tell you about a program..." and gave a 5 minute description that had some similarities to SMU (private school, pro sports dominate the market, etc). Then he said the school he was referencing was Miami.

Main problems with us having a "Miami model" are 1. No South Beach. 2. No BCS money 3. No gurantees of multiple ESPN games each year. and last but not least 4. No Ciminal Justice degree.
