Are you serious?? The Rose Bowl is a great stadium. Yes, its old, but it is a classic bowl with good sightlines. It is a true throw-back and there is nothing wrong with that.

I understand a Trojan can't speak too well of the Rose Bowl since that's where UCLA plays their home games. The Rose Bowl is head and shoulders above the LA Coliseum, in my opinion.

I know the RB has all the glory and history and what-not, but that doesn't change the fact that everyone is sitting on top of each other with no breathing room at all. The stadium is old and falling apart with about 3 restrooms total, not including the port-a-potties. Plus, there is no place to park except on a golf course where everybody gets quadruple stacked in and then can't find their cars on their way out...And when they do, they have to wait for 35 mins until the 2 guys in front and behind them leave. Not that I'm bitter or anything...

And I must say, despite the rough neighborhood, the Coliseum is way better for football games. Nicer stadium, nicer facilities, cooler architecture, more space, better parking/access. And when it's sold out, that place is rockin... Hence, if a NFL team were ever to grace the 2nd larget market in the US, they would play at the Coliseum.

I've got to disagree with you there. The Coliseum is not great for football games. You have the the space for the Olympic track that pushes the stands much further away from the field and the whole section where the Peristyle is useless. SC erects temporary bleechers in that end zone because the field is so far away. There is a reason both the Rams and the Raiders no longer wanted to play their games there.

You obviously haven't been to the Coliseum in years. It's been renovated since the days of yore. Track no longer exists - seats now go all the way to the field. The "sun deck" seats were added in to push the field away from the peristyle end, closer to all the fans. And unlike the RB, the Coliseum has actual seats throughout the stadium.

There is no question on which stadium is better. I have to agree with SMUtrojanFan. Access to the Rose Bowl is impossible--two lane roads; give at least two hours to drive in and out. Give another 15 minutes to find a parking spot on the golf course. Give at least 25 minutes to get to your seats once you enter the gates. And don't plan to sit down if your seats are near the tunnel. There is always a mass of people standing in the aisles.
