ESPN prelim top 25 for 2007.

18. TCU Horned Frogs
Why: The Horned Frogs finished the 2006 season with a flourish, winning their last seven games and thumping Northern Illinois 37-7 in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl. TCU outscored its last four opponents 172-35. All but two starters, including end Tommy Blake, an All-America candidate, return to a defense that should be among the best in the country. The defense will be tested early -- the Horned Frogs play at Texas on Sept. 8.

Why not: TCU loses quarterback Jeff Ballard, who threw 13 touchdowns and only five interceptions in 2006. He should be replaced by redshirt freshman Marcus Jackson, who has thrown 44 passes in his college career.

I am going to believe that it says SMU.

Why aren't we better than these guys?

Well.....

- they kick our butt in recruiting

- they have a coach who has experienced GREAT success in his 6 years as opposed to one who needs 6 years to first experience success (ie a winning record which we still have never had in PB's tenure).

- fans that come out in greater numbers than some local weekly highschool games

im sure there are many other reasons. who would like to add to the list?

TCU is better than us. And will continue to be until SMU turns their program around. At least we have the comfort of knowing our graduates succeed in the real world.

I am shocked Boise State fell. After all the talk of them conquering Goliath earlier, and the fact their really only losing a couple of defenders and their QB, you'd think they'd be top 15, not #23.

Exactly. But they sure did a good job of washing my car over my lunch break.

Were you talking about SMU grads washing your car or TCU grads washing your car. I saw a guy with a TCU sweatshirt on parking cars the other day up here.

Anyone else shocked by the fact that ESPN put ALABAMA in the top 25 (4) for their prelim 07 top 25?

Nick Saban is not god. He will work miracles at Bama but it will take 2 years i think.

I can't believe we're not at least top 10. What a joke.
