Battle For The Iron Skillet Set For National TV
SMU-TCU Picked For CSTV
March 20, 2007

DALLAS (SMU) - The 2007 battle for the Iron Skillet will be televised nationally on CSTV, it was announced today. The SMU-TCU battle will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Central at Amon Carter Stadium in Ft. Worth. SMU currently holds the Skillet after topping the Frogs, 21-10, on CSTV in 2005.

This will be SMU's third nationally-televised game of the season, as the SMU-Texas Tech game on Labor Day and its Sunday, Nov. 4 game at Houston will both air on ESPN. More games could air, as well, as CSTV will announce its Conference USA TV schedule in the upcoming days.

SMU is currently holding Spring Practice, which will conclude with the annual Red-Blue Game at 2 p.m. on March 31. Admission to the game is free and open to the public.

Awesome. More coverage for the team. Lets just hope we don't go 0-3 (which is a def. possibility). I will def. be watching that game!

From a fan's point of view, I love that the game is at 7:30 instead of the normal TCU 6:00pm game. The sun was always in our eyes until halftime.

OK- I will say it. The Sun in our eyes has been a good thing considering how well our coaches had us ready to play in Fort Worth the last few times.

We play them on a Thursday so we'll have a couple extra days to prepare. Looking forward to the game.

Is it really in SMU's interest to have this game on national television?

Let's face it, it could get real ugly, real quick.

Not really. I think TCU will hang in there for a little while.

Still waiting for someone to wager a burger over at the Burger House or something on this game. You seem to have some confidence Diamond, interested?

Nah, broke college student. If we win though, you can buy me a burger.
