It is nice to renew the old rivalry. Our record with them is 13-8-2. But we have lost most of the last 6 games, with one tie.

And if I remember correctly, in one of those six losses, Roy Rios missed a chip shot field goal in the closing seconds at the Cotton Bowl that would have given us the win.

That was around 1997-98? I've never been so furious over a loss than that one.

The tie was up in Columbia, 10-10?

That was 1996 and the K was Daniel Hernandez. It was the first (and only) time I'd ever seen a kick skip off the TOP of the upright without changing direction.

I agree with you Patton... okay kind of agree with you. Furious... nah ... I was the more disgusted, dejected, deflated. Yet again we had snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Luckily, I was a senior in high school then and the high school team was having a decent enough season. I was, though, pretty steamed.
