"These three Big 12 teams we're playing is kind of like a warm-up for the WAC," said junior nose guard Allan Adami. "The way the WAC is set up, I believe we can win it. I think physically we match up with all the teams in the WAC and have a chance."
An optimistic view, given the first game. But that's what SMU coaches are teaching their players.
"I'm not looking at this being a building year," Adami said. "If people are looking at SMU arriving after I graduate, that's kind of a slap in the face. What I do now is going to have no effect on people in the future.
"I want to win now."
