I think Dorsey's ability to catch the football should but him above everybody else on the depth chart. I still fell the only thing Martin brings is size and not a whole lot of power. Yeah for sure he'd be a good back for the job if he'd stay healthy but simple fact is the guy is injury prone!! Some one said earlier in this thread that he would have been recuited higher but he was injured in high school. Along with his injury filled season last year should be enough proof! Thats what scares me about the Martin.

They're the same size, 6'2 or 6'3 and 220+. Both have an upright running style. DeMyron even looks similar to me in the face. Put that bad hair, those awful 80's uniforms, and those Dickerson glasses on him and he'd be even more similar.

You're right. I haven't given Dorsey his due regard this off season. It just seemed that for whatever reason, he wasn't given the load to carry last season when Martin went down in Denton. I don't know why he wasn't "the guy" after that.

my personal impression of dorsey when i first saw him as a red shirt was that he would probably never be the feature back at smu... however, through out his redshirt year he constantly impressed me with how he well he set up his blocks/let the plays develop, and then would burst through the line of scrimmage. he is a very durable back, a smart player, and very coachable. i know he doesnt look like much standing next to DM, and might not have the speed that some of the other guys have... but he can play. im not sure he should have been "the guy" last year, but i would have liked to see him more often ( and not only on 3rd downs and swing plays

Martin ran about a 4.7 last year. This year ? Lets hope the report last year of 4.45 is correct this year when he is healthy.

Right. I was not comparing the talent of a college kid who had a good freshman season and an unmemorable sophomore season to one of the top 5 backs who ever carried the ball at any level. DMart just reminds me of Dickerson.
