Dude, it was a joke. I'm plenty aware of the importance of the war; I just highly disagree with the steps taken. Now before derailment becomes an issue, I emphasize again that it was a joke. You need to chill out and learn to laugh a little.

Protecting us?? All he done is make Iraq into the biggest terrorist training ground the world has ever known. While he's been dicking around over there, Al Queda has rebuilt itself to pre-9/11 strength. Read the papers, attempted bombings in Britian and there is fear another attack on US interests is iminent. He should have stuck to Afghanistan.

Well jt since you read the papers or surely listen to NPR as I do, why not give the whole story. The problem with Al Queda rebuilding itself is that they are doing it in Pakistan and unless Pakistan gives us permission to enter that area we cannot do so. Of course we could anyway except that Pakistan is an ally that our invasion would destabilize and probably lead to an overthrow of the government. There are no easy black or white answers to these problems and Madame President, or any other president, will not have any easier time dealing with it than has W. Actually, Osama Bin Laden is a very smart (although deranged) individual. He has an engineering background...need I say more?

We should not have gone to Iraq. That is the whole story.

That is one story. Going to Iraq in itself was not necessarily wrong, but not being prepared for the aftermath was a terrible and stupid mistake.

This would be so much easier if he were an architect.

Good God! I make one politically-oriented joke and all hell breaks lose. Can't we just stick to invading TCU? I say we enlist the assistance of the DBU Patriots since they are along the way.

Thomas Jefferson founded UVA...was he ever the "President," however? Obviously, he was the de facto President, but my (obviously limited) knowledge of UVA history is that there was no president of the university at that time. Woodrow Wilson was president of UVA at one point in his career as well.
I found what I knew: Jefferson established the UVA with no president...he was skeptical of central power and instead of a president, had the powers split between a rector and a board of visitors. There was no president of UVA until Edwin Alderman resigned his post as President of Tulane University in 1904 to become the first president of the University of Virginia.
