Playing uva would be great. I was almost relieved we didnt beat rice and go to that bowl game last year. Nothing against troy, but thats not the matchup we are looking for when we break the ice and finally go bowling after the DP. What kind of story is that? "Smu meets troy in sub mid major battle". That would emphasize how far we have really fallen, not that we are moving forward. Would rather play a service academy by a long shot. Maybe beggars cant be choosers, but i hope it works out for us or our admin realizes how important that first one is and negotiates something to get a decent name opponent even if we get slapped. Winning the bowl game doesnt matter nearly as much as the image of who we play. Think about all the lead up to the game and cliches...but i guarantee you nobody is going to talk that much about the win/loss result of the bowl game we finally end up appearing besides us girls here on ponyfans. Give me Virginia, Syracuse, Illinois, Ole Miss, Vandy all day long. Hell give me Florida State and an [deleted] whipping, but dont wave the flag about finally getting to a bowl game against MTSU or Troy.
