When was the last time we received any top 25 votes? Didn't it happen at some point during the Rossley years?

They have a strong QB in Hankins, and starting receivers who are fast and stand 6'4" and 6'8" and have good hands — in an offense with a big, veteran offensive line. They might not have a great team overall, but they'll score enough points to be in a lot of games.

I don't doubt they'll be able to keep up with teams, but really top 25 worthy? They only beat one D-I team last year, UTEP. There's little to no basis to voting UM higher than UH, ECU, and SMU in a preseason poll.

No, I don't think they're worthy of top-25 consideration at all. But I also don't think they'll be the laughingstock this year that some said they were last year. Most of the preseason material I've read suggests Memphis will be much improved.

They definitely will be much improved. When you fire your defensive coordinator in the middle of the year and are plagued by many injuries it's hard to pull even a decent season out. It'll be tough, especially playing in Memphis, but they should not be even close to top 25 consideration. I'm glad to see USM, UH, TT, and TCU (moreso our conference foes) on there as well. Hopefully they can maintain and/or improve their rankings and C-USA can add more teams into the polls.
