Shouldn't you wait until you can beat lil' ol' NTSU before talking smack?
We did. But thanks for your input.
By the way, the edging was a bit uneven this week, fix it and I'll toss in an extra five spot for you next week.

Mine was a bit off too, maybe a good blade sharpening would help?

If the NTSU game is a financial success we should continue the series. SMU can't afford to play a bunch of schools that can't draw 15,000 fans-we get enough enough of those playing our CUSA "Rivals". Seriously, if this series averages 25,000+ which it could - we should play them. Get an extra game in the Metroplex with very little travel costs. I've got no patience for fans or coaches who are too afraid to play a school because they might embarrass us. Losing mentaility. There is no excuse to lose to NTSU. Beat their [deleted] and they pose no threat to SMU. Lose to NTSU then we ought to fire the Coach.

I will be pleasantly surprised if SMU gets similar coverage after Sept. 3.

I believe the same can be said for SMU.
Edit: Cox numbers: Out-of-State students constitute 41% of the student body (Top 5 States: California, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, and Louisiana in Fall 2006) In-State students constitute 59% of the student body
According to the SMU website, about 64% of SMU undergrads are from Texas, so about 36% are from out-of-state. However, SMU does draw well from California, and did so long before TCU did. We also draw very well these days from Colorado.
We still draw students from all 50 states, DC, a couple of US territories, and about 80 other countries. But until about 4 years ago, our primary draw was from the mid-section of the country, especially places like Kansas, Missouri (especially Kansas City and St. Louis), and Illinois (especially Chicago) -- more so, in fact, than SMU. Our draw out West is a more recent phenomenon. Looks like TCU and SMU out-of-state demographics are merely becoming more aligned. Not sure that this is particularly significant in terms of football.

First, we need to schedule at least 1 or 2 very winnable OOC games (games in which we would be favored by 7 or more points), and the SBC teams fit that niche and will generate more local interest than say playing Buffalo or 1-AA teams. We should also schedule TCU every year. We should also schedule one reach for the stars type game, Tech, OU, UT, A&M, LSU, Arkansas to gauge where we are as a program. You need at least one of those wins if you want to ever have a chance to get to a BCS bowl (which I know we are a long way from going to). However, remember schedules are made 5-8 years out, so a lot can change in 8 years. So we don't want to be in the position where we get a great team and can make a run only to find that we have a 1-AA team, 2 SBC teams and TCU on the schedule that year.
