I think it is about time to let Luker start taking snaps. He was the prize of one of our recruiting classes and, in my opinion, has the best arm on the team (not to mention a better mind than McCown).
Any thoughts?

Yes I have thoughts, that might be one of the most ludicrous thoughts I have ever heard. Why would we waste his red shirt year? IMO, this season has been lost. What good would it do to not look into preserving him for the future? At best we would win 2-4 games, doing nothing for the team.
Luker is being red shirted, we have 7 games behind us and 5 ahead of us. The move to red shirt him was smart, we now have an extra year of him. Understand, I to think he is a decent QB and my reasoning are not due to any lack of ability in Luker, it is a reason of common sense.

He needs to keep this as his red shirt year. Assuming he doesn't jump ship, next year will be a better time for him to take over the starting position. I thought Page looked really good for a first start and may be the way we need to go for the rest of the season.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Juice might not have relized that he was red shirted. Since he is, there is no reason to play him, that would hurt the team too much as far as the future is concerned.

Not so fast, my friends!
McCown is still the best quarterback on this team, although Page showed a great deal of poise in the loss to Hawaii. But they're both much better than Luker, and they deserve to compete for the starting job.

Page has the mental capability.
McCown has the athletic ability.
If we could somehow mesh them together...Maybe this could be Luker.
I have not really seen Luker in the game situation, but maybe he is the answer. But not this year, he needs that redshirt.
