8-5
I dont see us losing all of these games. This team played really well toward the end of the season in big time games. I think that they have more confidance now and will be looking forward to these games more than the others.

I take it you meant "except for Rice" but just forgot to type it?
I will give this prediction. Cold beer and hot chicks on the 'vard. At least early in the season.

Thanks. You owe me about 20grand in therapist expenses. We had finally laid that demon to rest and here you go bringing it back up again. Guess I'll have to make another appointment.

IF we were to win any of the Tech/TCU/So. Miss games, it would be a pleasant surprise...that said, I am not yet confident that this team can hang through an entire four quarters with any of those opponents. As far as the team looking forward to these type games, I am pleased to hear that as well. But I would have to agree with the counselor on this one that looking forward to one game with a 'big' opponent can lead to a meltdown in other ( read ALL ) critical games ( see Rice, '06 ).
BTW, I would love to be pleasantly surprised.

I predict that if I see the same person on the sidelines that I saw on page 9 of the media guide, then I could really care less how the season goes. We need more of that connected with our program.

the team played really well down the stretch? The only game in the last 5 SMU played "really well" was the second half against Tulsa. The team played really bad against ECU. The team sleepwalked against a poor UAB team. The team choked against UH and Rice including losing to a team with a QB with little experience or talent as a passing QB. The team was prone to give up big big plays on defense during this stretch. The team was 2-3 "down the stretch" hardly a glowing commendation. SMU was a mediocre football team in 2006 going 5-6 against Division 1A football teams, filling up on cupcakes in non-conference and a very very weak conference and actually losing to a horrible NTSU team. Sorry that's a lot more accurate picture of the true level of the program.

Name one thing in his statement that wasn't the absolute truth in black and white. One thing.

Well, if you leave out the opinion, then the numbers were right.
But our 2006 record -- regardless of who is on the schedule and what level they play at -- was 6-6. It wasn't 5-6. It was 6-6.
We've gone through this BS argument before. If you want to get all annoyed that we beat Sam Houston St. 4X-X, then do the same by going after TCU which played UC-Davis, and the rest of the DI schools who played a I-AA team.
Think Colorado was glad Montana St. was on its 2006 schedule. That's what I thought.
We went 6-6. Period.
Now cut the crap!!

The correct terminology is Division I-A FCS (Football Championship Subdivision), not Div. 1-AA. This terminology was officially implemented by the NCAA in 2006 and Div. 1-AA was dropped. Officially the NCAA only recognizes 1-A FCS as a "true" National Champion since those schools use a playoff system. The other division (BCS/Div. 1-A) is a poll/media champion.
