I'm in tears. God, are we a bitter group. Love the thread that starts "Sellout my A__"

C'mon just laugh. We've seen this crap for 18 years. Of course, we don't have to like it, but it's amusing reading some of this stuff.

The laughter cures me of the frustration I felt during and immediately after the game.

True. However, in the past we've not gone to the trouble and expense of hyping this team like this year. Marketing has been great. It was refreshing to see students line up at the stadium an hour and a half early. And the white shirts in the student section. The synchronized boom sticks (or what ever they are called). Made my wife cry with pride. When so many work so hard for such a poor performance, it increases my bitterness. And don't call me a newcomer or that I need to get used to it. I've followed this team for 13 years. But I'm fairly new to this board.

BTW, kudos to Ponyfans.com. It's the one thing around here that is first class and is committed to excellence. The PA announcer, sound system, coaches, and this team aren't. But I'm willing to give the team a break--they are just doing what they are coached to do.

We're used to it

I am not bitter or angry about the loss that had to be expected. We are what we are - a 6-6 team, at best, in a mid-level conference that ranks only slightly above the Sunbelt or the MAC. I am not happy about this and I do want it to be changed. But the PB pattern is to lose in September and on the road. What we see is what we get; nothing more and nothing less.

No the pattern is that SMU loses to teams with better recruits-just so happens they are scheduled in September. Never beaten a Big 12 Team, been dominated by TCU. They'd kick our [deleted] in October, November and December too. We don't have the talent to play well against anything other than mediocre bottom 2/3rds talent. That's where we are-those are the type of recruits we get. Which means we've got a shot at winning some games in the mediocre CUSA West.

Others have done with less

Recruits aside, one coach went to Rice and got to a bowl in the first and only year there. The pity is that we can't even win tthe weak CUSA West.
