I can paraphrase (loosely):

Disappointed.
Not a lot to be proud of.
Tech played well, has a very explosive offense.
Graham Harrell is an excellent quarterback.
Mistakes (i.e. dropped passes) are correctable.
Short week, don't have time to feel sorry for ourselves.
North Texas had a big loss, too, so they'll be ready.
Short week for us — we need to be ready, too.

What did you expect him to say?

Coach Bennett, "I take the blame for this one. We Weren't prepared but you have to give Tech some credit. They executed and made some big plays. They also make plays against a lot of teams but I do wish we would have been a little more competitive. We'll have to get over this one and get ready for UNT next week. No one's going to feel sorry for us and we just have to do a better job of preparing our team. As I said before this is just one game. You want to win them all but we have to keep this tough loss in perspective."

OKAY, I HAVE TO SAY THIS ISN'T A DIRECT QUOTE FROM COACH BENNETT BUT AFTER WATCHING MY TEAM LOSE FOR THE LAST (WAY TOO MANY) YEARS TO COUNT, THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON LOSS SPEECH REMAINS THE SAME.(Sorry for the extended sentence)

Now if Bennett comes back next year you can post your own version of the First game of the season loss speech on Ponyfans.

I promise I wrote my version of Phil's speech before reading your paraphrased version.
It's pretty pathetic when your team loses soooo much the fans know what the coach is going to say after another A-kickin.

Well, with regard to those remarks, Lloyd Carr said the same thing and all the pundits say when there's that many things going on, and the coach has expectations of better performance, and the kids were not prepared, well...be worried LSU fans, b/c Les Miles could be headed for Ann Arbor.

But you other guys are right: it's the same crap after a loss.
