when your FS makes 14 tackles you are in big trouble. Tackles by CBs can be a deceiving stat. I know McCann made some plays but he also missed a lot of plays which is probably why he had 9 tackles. Amendola and Crabtree made some big plays-when he alternated onto them. I'm not too surprised Graham is a helluva QB and when he makes essentially ZERO mistakes its going to get out of hand.

Haynes missed tackles all over the field too. He has got to tackle Ammendola. Great Call by Leach isolating Amendola on Haynes.

If he was in the right spot, a lot of those tackles would have been pass breakups. But in general, I agree.

our defense was atrocious, virtually nothing positive to take away from this game. the receivers were always open or the ball carrier broke a tackle every time

Considering that offense, and the fact that they put up crazy numbers on everyone, it's hard to judge the defense. Yes, Harrell had a big day, but last year, in his first year as a starter, he had the third-most yards by a sophomore in Tech history. This offense racks up absurd stats, and did so today, and will do so again. Shut down UNT and go forward.

The backup was 6-7. So I really don't think we can say ANYBODY in the secondary played well-despite their "gaudy" tackling stats. Why do you think they had to make so many tackles.

Expected Tech to score over 40 - I just thought we would score at least 3 touchdowns. Not much to be proud of offensively, especially since that is suppose to be our strength.

Hey at least we got front page teaser coverage and front page of sports day above the fold in the paper. That should make you even happier about this game.

Harrell is overrated and his O-line is underrated. The only time Harrell saw any contact all day, he got hurt. Not only did he get hurt, he got hurt in dramatic, roll-around-on-the-carpet, soccer-player fashion. Came back in the game later, which proves he was never really hurt at all. Can you tell I'm bitter?

If we cannot get any semblance of a pass rush soon we are in deep trouble.

After rewatching the game at home, we really didn't do that bad in the first half. That all-out call and missed tackle was a killer. The floated duck completion on 3-18 exposed the lack of ability of Bonilla to react to anything. On the last TD drive, they completed third and long several times because we didn't shutdown the inside route.

Offensively in the first half, we were able to move the ball just fine. We just had major issues with drops.

Biggest changes for next week:

- Hawkins needs to be moved back to outside LB and let Hurst play in the middle. Hurst came in when we switched to a 3-4 at times and did well. He is big and can move. Hawkins on the outside intercepts that duck.

- We need to find a tall possession receiver. They played their corners back and dared us to keep it short. We couldn't beat them over the top, and with the negetive plays in the second half couldn't afford to run WR screens anymore. Negative plays kill our offense's ability to move the ball. A big guy who will go up and get a ball is a game saver in those situations.
