Is 23,743. Not great, but when is the last time it was that after two games? A slight improvement over recent years.

i wasn't at the game so i don't know how many unt fans showed but i might go out on a limb and say that's what happens when you schedule 2 teams with a decent fan base in the area

There was a good number of UNT fans at the game...but would say that we actually outnumbered them last night

I couldn't find the official attendance in the DMN. The risk of losing to UNT is a serious threat to the status of SMU, but the value of a good home gate draw is more important given the NCAA standards for Div. 1-A (I mean the bowl championship division).

ESPN reports a smidge over 20,000.

NTSU brought a nice crowd. Our side was a lttle late arriving, but filled in by the end of the 1st quater. This should be a home and home every year. We aren't the SWC Mustangs anymore, so there is no need to have some kind of false sense of superiority. We should paly NTSU and TCU every year.

We had a great experience on your campus yesterday, and I particularly liked the feel inside Ford Stadium. We were well received at the tailgating events, and almost without exception we were treated with wonderful southern hospitality. The few exceptions were with young drinking I assume students, that is to expected.
My group brought 12 fans and next time I am sure we could bring more. I do hope the series is renewed, and I believe it can only help both schools.

Thanks JesuitGreen..besides the final score, are you sure you don't have a laundry list of complaints from yesterday? Was there plenty of toilet paper? Did anyone hassle you unmercifully throughout the day, constantly asking you who you were, and what you were doing here / there? Thnaks for the compliments....

I don't even have much to complain about the final score, Dodge has me really pumped up. Your campus layout for pregame activities is really nice and I have nothing but good things to say.
If you are looking for complaints I guess if you could do something about the Texas heat, I was a little warm last night.
Oh and the coed scenery was also very nice.

We might as well accept the new realities. Besides if UNT is good enough for OU, then they are good enough for SMU. Sign them up for home & home annually.

It's a money game - no airfare or lodging for the opposing players. Should be played every year and hopefully one day we will look good playing them.
