Do we ever.....?I thought that was pretty slick when North Texas caught us changing defenses and quickly snapped the ball when our players were still trying to get off the field. I guess we were flagged for too many players being on the field? Why not pickup every yard possible right? Do we ever do that? Is that basically just a quarterback being alert and ready to pounce on any weakness or is that something from the sideline?

Our offense isnt normally on the field long enought to the point where the other team needs to change defensive personal...so the answer is no.
Unfortunately, when we try this it usually ends up as a mess. If you watch, it seems we go out there and line up just to see what the defense is doing, and then the play gets called in after we're at the line. This gives them plenty of time to shuttle people on and off the field.
Also remember last year, when we would try to catch them and the o-line would stand still, and Willis and one receiver would be the only ones running a play. Willis always ended up getting popped by someone. I'd rather let them keep the five yards and we keep our QB healthy.
We actually ran that play twice on Saturday. The first time it was successful for a deep completion (the receiver could have been OB, I could not tell from my seat), but the officials whistled the play dead rather than letting them play on. I think maybe the offender actually hit an OLman which would have stopped the play. If not it was a bad call by the officials. The 2nd time was with 1st and goal from the 2 with no time left in the half. We passed to Sanders in the end zone and he dropped it (slightly behind him) and we took the penalty and then ran Martin over from the 1. The pass was not called initially, I would expect, but took place when the DLmen jumped. I personally like the play very much but it needs to be stressed to Willis that he needs to immediately chunk the ball downfield rather than sitting in the pocket and waiting.
