ShanDerrick Charles Article

A really nice article about a great SMU running back, prevented by a freak injury from having a great career. I remember seeing him run. He was fantastic.

I Remember....

Postby Captain E J Smith » Thu Sep 27, 2007 8:34 am

I have fond memories of watching ShanDerrick. He would have a great run, or score a touchdown. Then he would come to the side line and sit by himself in a folding chair. If he came off the field and his chair was not available, We would yell at the trainers ------

" Give THE MAN a chair!"

I wish ShanDerrick well.

I find mysel thinking about what might have been way too often with ShanD. A great talent, that never got to realize his full potential due to an unfortunate injury. That guy was so exciting to watch. I wish him well, and am sorry to hear that he still has pain from that injury, that is a terrible thing for such a young guy to have to deal with for the rest of his life.
