Good post that unfortunately got co-oped by the bobblehead.

I know several older alumni who have expressed similar feelings.

It looks like your best hope now resides with Matt Doherty...that is if you like basketball.

I do believe it is possible for you to drive to Moody sometime in the next 4 years and not know beforehand if SMU will or will not defeat UT.

That statement can't be made for football...not in your lifetime, doubtful in mine.

I wouldn't give up. Lots can happen in a very short time. 3 yr.s ago hardly anyone heard of Boise St. If SMU makes the commitment to a winning program they will achieve it. I think they will make that commitment. SMU cannot throw away it's glory day's. I remember that Bluebonnet Bowl. I remember the Pony Express. I honestly think that SMU will return to big time national football. This might be the turning point with the next hire. As for coaches, if given the chance to be the only coach in NCAA history to revive the only DP school. That coach will have a great legacy. That has to be tempting to alot of these guy's who don't need the $. SMU will have to put up the $ to prove they are serious. They will.
