Vic is the Head Coach of the Strength and Conditioning dept. As such he is assigned the to the football team, but he is not part of the football staff. There are assistant coaches under him who are assigned to other sports, but similarly they are under S&C, not directly under the coach for that sport.

and I'm pretty sure the new BBall strength coach works for Viloria and worked with him at LSU, I'm guessing he came here on Viloria's recommendation. Good moves IF Orsini tells a new coach he can bring in his own strength guy specifically for football if he doesn't want Viloria.

I say give the new coach whatever in the world he wants, but I don't think ya gonna wanna be kicking on Vic.

I want what the next coach wants. If that is Vic, then "Yeah!" If that is not Vic, then I don't want Vic either. Just b/c he is an alum, doesn't mean I treat him any different than any other asst coach.

OK, so I guess you're the boss applesauce! But just for the record, this has zip to do with Vic or the new HC. I was commenting/pi&&ed off about the KICK TO THE CURB remark. Losing ones job is a serious thing to some people. Why not just say thanks, or good luck, or nothing, and go on.

Vic is one of the few that can deem himself part of the solution.

Given his time at LSU learning his trade and his passion for the game and this school, I can't help but think that he is someone any coach would want to have stick around.

I can't believe this is being discussed. When he was at LSU, Viloria personally coached/worked out with JaMarcus Russell, who at the time Viloria got ahold of him was tall and skinny and had some baby fat still on him. Viloria — sorry .... "Coach Viloria" — made him into a mountain of a man, in great shape, with strength, stamina, etc. .... Everything I've ever heard and read indicates that Coach Viloria is an asset and we're extremely lucky to have him.
I really shouldn't drink and type.

Precisely. He trained under a well-regarded strength and conditioning coach (can't recall his name), and he established himself as a young star in that area. Frankly, I'd think he'd have as good of a shot as any in an open cattle call of resumes for the position; if that is indeed so, then I am pretty sure any new coach would give him a better than solid look.
