Hey Stallion here are the stats on Jarvis Woodson

Postby xXx » Tue Oct 07, 2003 8:31 am

Jarvis Woodson #11 (Ennis) thru week 5
32 Receptions for 524 yards 12 touchdowns on receptions plus another 5 punt returns for TD's. He is now averaging 20 yards on punt returns. The reasons that the DMN gave for not placing Jarvis in the top 100 are lame....size is the reason (5'8 170). Case in point; Vincent Marshall from Ennis is now playing for UH. They are similar in size and speed and Vincent is making a huge impact at the DI level. Jarvis Woodson was one of the States leading receivers last year and has started with a bang this year. If anyone has any questions about this kid you really need to see Jarvis play. Ennis will be playing at Texas Stadium again this year during the playoffs so there is no excuse. Another Ennis player is Denard Cox #5. He plays DB this year but was the leading rusher for Ennis at RB for the last two years. I am pretty close the Ennis organization and I know that these two would make a major impact on the SMU squad. Yes, Tommy Daniels (Def.Line) is another impact player.

sounds awesome-I've seen him make some big plays on the Friday Nite High School Highlites shows-its still early but I would think he's going to get a lot of attention in Ennis' offense which is one of the best ever. One problem with SMU might be that Bennett has taken so many small receivers that he is looking big with the few remaining ships he can offer at that position. You said he was 5-11 right? You see that sometimes where a team fills up at a position and is handicapped in offering other deserving prospects. But I really don't know the thoughts of the coaching staff on Woodson-for all I know he's a top target. Are these kids fully qualified? I bet he ends up with more offers than he knows what to do with if he's qualified, healthy and continues producing like you say.

Nope, he said 5'-8", 170.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Hey xXx, does Tommy have any interest in SMU? I read early on where he had SMU on his list, for whatever that's worth over the summer, but haven't seen much about him since. He could be a star at SMU, and there are a lot of PonyFans who would love to see him kicking tail in Red and Blue!
