Rice 56 UTEP 48

Post by ALEX LIFESON »

How did those eggheads from lil' ole' Rice do it? Rice won dispite 7 turnovers! Rice held transfer superstars Marcus Thomas to 51 yards on 19 carries, and Lorne Sam rushed for 24 yards on seven carries. Rice had 12,000 announced fans at homecoming.

Defense?

TCU or was it Baylor once held Eric Dickerson to 19 yards on 19 carries. You think we should have taken a shot with ole Dickerson. You can't be serious. Really? The only relevant question is whether UTEP is a stronger Football program because Sam and Thomas are on their team. If UTEP holds Rice to 47 points-UTEP wins.

BTW you managed to leave out 268 PASSING RECEPTION YARDS the 3 UTEP Division 1A Transfers had last nite:

Rouse 100
Sam 89
Thomas 69

Sounds to me like Rice overplayed the run. They combined for about 350 yards Total Offense-446 if you include Return yards

Sounds like you need another bloody mary Stall! Of course UTEP is better with those transfers, I never said they weren't. Just pointed out that the fiesty nightbirds have a VERY similar academic process, YET they managed to win. By the way, Thomas had 207 rushing against us, and Sam had 106, UTEP had 558 yards against SMU. Come on Stallion, adding in return yardage, that's a stretch, even for you. By the way, Houston beat Rice 56-48 two weeks ago, let's see how we compare tonight. Go Ponies!

As for as Rice is concerned, all I know is I hope they are just good enough to BEAT THE HELL OUT OF TULSA and the great Coach Todd whatever his name is.

And those GREAT TRANSFERS still ended up defeated by a bunch of 2 and 3 star recruits from Rice.

Stat nerds like you are the only people who care which program is strongest on paper. All that matters at the end of the day is who won the Game.

Hey Brilliant...SMU has won less games than ANYBODY over the past 20 years.
