TCU owns YOU wrote:Nice Try. But we have FW Bowl to fall back on.
The FW Bowl is always pulling for TCU because we sell most tickets since it is on campus. The highest attendance for FW Bowl was TCU/Boise St.
We Frogs have been to Bowl Game for 8 of the last 9 years, so obviously our conference is not hurting our bowl picture. There are very few programs that have been to bowl in 8 of last 9 years.
Sadly, I can't remember when SMU last went to Bowl game.
I guess it would have been 1997, but we beat you in FW for our only win of the season. This was avenged by our only loss in 2005 when SMU kept 11-1 Frogs from Fiesta Bowl.
You have been to a bowl 8 of the last 9 years, and only 2 were in MWC.
How is that "obvious" that your conference is not hurting your bowl chances?
Not saying that your conference hurts your bowl chances, I don't think it does. But your rebuttal is ridiculous and off point.
The overarching point is that MWC has 9 teams and 4 bowl tie-ins...and TCU is likely NOT to get one.
An at large may be possible if CUSA (Likely) doesn't fulfull their bowl commitments...whether or not FW Bowl is one of them is another story...

Worth Bowl want to sell hotel rooms, fill the restaurants, and keep the Ft. Worth Gentlemen's Clubs busy. This means that if every thing else is equal Air Force gets the nod over TCU. If the Aggies were available in the Big XII, that would be quite a match-up. AF vs. the Cult. Fran's swann song at his former stadium.
That would be New Orleans Nights...

Well, I guess BYU OWNS YOU since you guys took it in the shorts again from them, 27-22!
What's that Patterson record on Thursday nights -- 1-6? What was his excuse for the Thursday loss this time?

DFW teams are currently 7-20 on the season. Yet, Bennett is the only one who's head is rolling.

Treadway21 wrote:What about all tose commercials on TV and radio begging the MW and TCU fans to call Direct TV to demand they carry games?
That has to be the most insanse use of good money being wasted since the Cue Cat ran through $200million in venture capital money back in the dot bomb days. I keep calling DirecTV and tell them not to carry the Mountain.
CU has a really small alumni base and in the Dallas area nobody really cares. I am sure the FW cable system has the Mountain. As for the fact that 2 teams are the after thoughts of Colorado, Wyoming has fewer people in the entire state than FW, San Diego State is a commuter school that makes Houston fans look hard core, UNLV is the other school in Nevada, and then you have the great states of Utah and New Mexico who have a smaller population than the DFW TV viewing area. This conference is a niche market and the only way that they are going to get on DirecTV is if it is as an extra fee channel or they pay to be on.

We are just not very good this year. I hope we are good enough to get to a bowl, just for the extra practice, but am not sure. Good news is we were good enough to get the skillet back. And you were good enough to get back the trophy you and North Texas State play for, so you got that goin for ya.

Just wanted to gig you guys a little. Good luck against SDSU and UNLV. You can't argue against practicing in December. That's always a great thing.
