Once again Gene Stallings was the youngest Coach in NCAA Football when Bear Bryant raised him on his shoulders when the Aggies upset Alabama in the 1968 Cotton Bowl. That puts him at least at the age of 75-78 years old-but he did coach the Cardinals didn't he-throw him in the mix. Actually he is about 73. Damn he was young at the time.
These options appear to be as relevant as any others that already have been thrown out there and totally discredited like Barnett and Bowden ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
thats funny. Mariuchi didnt want the Michigan State job but he is coming to SMU? simply ridiculous.
Would you want to be stuck in Michigan year round? Your probably right about his lack of interest in the SMU job, but I will say that it can get downright cold in Michigan in the winter and it looks like I will be stuck in Detroit for 7 weeks during that time. I am not looking forward to it ![]()
Re: Former NFL Head Coaches?
Someone suggested that SMU might be looking at former NFL Head Coaches. Trying to speculate who that might be. The one that comes to mind is perhaps Dave McGinnis-a TCU graduate-and former head Coach of the Arizona Cardinals. He was a finalist I believe in the last TCU search. I believe he is Coaching with the Titans now. Any more speculation?
1. Dennis Green 2. other failed Arizona Cardinal Head Coaches Probably not Ron Meyer
.............MIKE DITKA
