Believe me, our inability to recruit has nothing to do with a lack of information.

It has everything to do with an inability to select the right 2-3 star player. A player who can develop better than our competitors 2-3 star player. A player we can keep in school, a player that works hard, a player that wants to win.

Given our abysmal lack of Sr. and Jr. talent, it seems we are selecting players who wash out or don't want to play.

We are getting drilled by schools that - on paper - shouldn't hold a candle to SMU. How is that we are our recruited by Tulsa et al? Because they are better talent evaluators, better coaches to develop the talent.

No they do not! Major D1 schools have camps for the players who are on the bubble (have not been offered a scholarship). That is where they pick up the OTHER PLAYERS. We have players that should not be on the sidelines of any college football team, some with scholarships, Stop posting this [deleted] unless you are willing to stand outside of Turners office and hold up a sign that says you suck Turner, change the model or something. WE DO NOT RECRUIT, WE BEG! I have a granddaughter bigger than some of the players on the bench?

I feel sorry for her mom.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.

I will pay $20 to the person who is willing to go stand outside Turner's office with a sign that reads, "or something."

Why not spend a little of the budget designated for the next coach on hiring several guys whose entire job is to recruit and find those diamonds in the rough. Big programs have that and if we are willing to drop a mil on a coach, why not spend a little on a recruiting operation. Because, Then you have a situation where the coach flies to the recruits home and seals the deal only. Otherwise, you have a situation where the head coach and assitants are spending tons of time trying to coach, hunt for the players, and then recruit them. Therefore, I feel even if we get a big name coach, that doesn't neccesarily mean he will find the players. We have to find them.

The NCAA has regulations, please find them and update yourself on the rules and regulations of recruiting. Plus, it would not make a difference if we hired the 43rd army platoon to recruit. We will continue to get the type of players we have now. My question to you is, what came first the chicken or the egg. Do we have to win first to be able to recruit or can we recruit to win. If you was a good HS football player, would you come here?

I may be, but stop posting like we are on the same playing field as everybody else. Are you [deleted]. We have the type of players we have had for the last 20 years for a reason, we suck in athletics. And all you Doh fans can kiss my [deleted], he sucks and the team sucks because no athlete wants to play here. I seen Doh watch a man die on the soccer field track and never lift a finger! He sucks.

Bigdaddy I'm sorry I am going to have to disagree with you. I know my son has talent and could have chosen any other program but chose SMU because he believed that things would be changing on the hilltop. It is people like you that make the next set of recruits afraid to take a chance and make a difference. I think the 2007 class will be great if they stay together. We just need other guys that believe that SMU can do it. You must believe in yourself before anyone else can believe and you.

And I do know what you mean that you have to beg athletes to go here. My son asked two of his friends Christen Scott and Danny Hogan to join him here and they both said its going to take more then them to turn the school around. I believed they both made the best choice for them. I do think my son sometimes may doubt his choice but will hang in there to see whats to come.

Roy, tell your son to relax and enjoy his time at the University. It was the best 4 years of my life despite the fact that our teams in the mid-70's never won much. He is a good athlete and will get a lot of playing time. Tell him to take subjects that will enable him to get a good job after he is finished on the hilltop. Also meet and make friends with as many of his fellow students, professors, and alumni as possible. A lot of times in life its not what you know, but whom you know that makes the difference. SMU is a great place to make contacts that can make a difference later on. If he has this type of attitude, I'm sure that he will also look back on his time at the University as the best 4 years of his life also!

Roy, we all think our children are good enough, and we should. Your son is at SMU for a reason. Tell him to keep his head up, because this is going to be a long road to travel. The next set of recruits do not an will not know me. I do not play, coach or work at the University. What does it have to do with me? This is a 20 year problem that we can only blame coaches and players for. If it was that simple you would think this institution of higher learning would have found the solution by now? 20 years? Would you continue to do something for 20 years that has not worked?

Thought:
How many people would agree to meet on a specific day and have signs like " Change the Model" Give Athletics a level Field" " Make Sports Right"

Please stay away from Blank Sucks.

I believe this could even get some news time.

"For the love of SMU - NCAA standards please"
That's my sign.
