Again, the answer isJUCOS! JUCOS! JUCOS!
Re: Again, the answer isre: Again the answer is....JUCOS! JUCOS! JUCOS
How come it isn't "the answer" for so many teams that have JUCOS that also have horrible records?
Re: Again, the answer isI like the idea of adding JUCOs, but in limited supply. I don't want to see us signing classes that are 50 percent HS guys and 50 percent JUCO guys. Maybe 2 or 3 a year. I love what I've read about Bobby Chase, and a JUCO quarterback seems like a good plan, whether it's the Kansas guy Stallion mentions on the Recruiting message board or another guy. And maybe a big lineman, but only if he's exceptional and ready to dominate the minute he walks on campus. Otherwise, I'd prefer to see us recruit big linemen from high school and let Coach Miller "coach them up." Just a few JUCOs for the first few years - then let's build with HS guys.

Re: Again, the answer isHey Varsity Shop I guess you weren't a Mathmatics Major. When 85-90% of the schools playing Division 1A take JUCOs-someone wins and someone loses just about every game.

Hey Stallion thats exactly the point! There are many horrible teams loaded with JUCO's and it sure doesn't seem to be their "answer".....why is it going to be SMU's "answer"? JUCOs are not "the answer". Why do you seem to think SMU is going to automatically attract the "cream of the crop" of JUCO players in the country? The best JUCOs are going to get gobbled up by the better schools just like the better high school recruits do. You think all the best JUCOs are going to come running to SMU? Ha! What a joke! This "JUCOs are the answer" is non-sense!
Re: Again, the answer isThink about your arguments for a second VarsityShop. Are we getting some good high school recruits now or not? I'm pretty sure what you would say. Why can't we get some quality Jucos? Even if we get Jucos that are the SAME quality as our Cavan high school recruits, whatever that is, the only reason to recruit Jucos is to fill holes with physically mature young men. You tell me, do we have any holes to fill?
Re: Again, the answer isJUCOs are much more likely to sign with a Division 1A team-even if it is mediocre-as long as they can get immediate playing time. If you knew the first thing about what you were talking about you'd know that.

Re: Again, the answer isThe premise of this thread was that
"JUCOs are the answer". We will just "agree to disagree" because I think the statement that JUCO's are the "answer" for SMU is just ludicrous! JUCO's might or might not help......but to say they are "THE ANSWER" is just not a factual statement in my opinion, and in fact is just fantasy land.
Re: Again, the answer isI don't think anybody has suggested turning this into JUCO U. Is it the Answer? I'd say that judicious use of 3 JUCOs per year over the last two years would have meant 3 more victories this year. And our coaches have the best connections to JUCO FB than any staff in the nation-with Jim Gush being a former JUCO head coach in Kansas.
