Re: Sources: Nutt will not be retained by Arkansas
Yea - that would be an easy sell to the Arky fans. We fired our 8-4 coach who just beat LSU in Baton Rouge and now we're going to bring in a coach that went 7-5 in the MWC with a team ranked in the preseason top 25. This was not the year for TCU to underachieve if Patterson was thinking about making a move. (Not saying he wouldn't leave for the right job.)
Re: Sources: Nutt will not be retained by Arkansas
But this might be the right time for him to move if his talent is dropping -- I don't keep up with how you're recruiting is doing in recent years other than I know it's better than ours -- but I have TCU friend who thinks that's very much something Arkansas would look at considering his body of work. At this point, who knows?
My Arkansas friends tell me Nutt is headed to Georgia Tech. If true, he got a sweet deal with the settlement.
If I recall it was $2 million if he quit and $4.5 million if he was fired so he negoiated a pretty good deal to be able to resign and still get $3.5 and a new job.
Of course, if we name him our coach, would he still coach the Hogs in the Cotton Bowl or not?
BTW, my daughter had this scenario worked out that Nutt would come here and Patterson would go to TCU. She's up on this stuff. My gawd, she was totally into the Western Michigan-Central Michigan game a couple of weeks ago and said before she went to bed that Western Michigan would blow its lead and lose. They did.
Tell your daughter she needs to sign up & post on pf.com. She makes a lot more sense than her father. ![]()
