Yes everyone knew about the buyout--$2 million was thrown around but not the exact $1.8 million. He also predicted that Nutt would resign and take the Ole Miss job exactly in the time frame it did. Maybe the guy is just lucky. I didn't see anyone else predict these things. Maybe one but not both. The guy is an insider with Fran.
I thought the Fran buyout ended up being in the neighborhood of $3.5? Class of '02
Well its just telling - that's all. I said the same thing but since I am more realistic - negative in some people's eyes and saying what people don't want to hear - I am not believable. Hope is one thing but blind ignorance is another. ![]()
Don't dismiss Sonny Dykes just yet. I doubt he'd get the head coach position, but he has been intrigued by SMU for some time. He was considered a possibility when the Rice job was open, and rumor has it he told people the SMU job was a "much better" opportunity for any coach.
"What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"
- Randy Galloway ESPN Radio (103.3 FM)
You were guessing. herewegoagin didn't say either or, he said exactly what was going to happen and it did. Big difference biggin.

Hey stallion did you and the other 6 fans know Houston Nutt was going to sign with Ole Miss today? I know it hurts your ego to consider someone else having more information than you but there is a good chance this person really has a connection to Fran. Get over yourself.
Anybody know how that NCAA Certification works. For example, Mike Sherman is not eligible to recruit for A&M until he completes his Certification process which believe requires certain tests of NCAA rules. Does a Coach have to be re-certified when moving to a new job? I guarantee you it would be a violstion of NCAA rules for a non-designated Coach to recruit on behalf of a university at which he is not employed. Bet Fran is keeping his nose clean with the NCAA don't you. I'm mean his livelihood may depend on his NCAA reputation.
Yes, he has to be recertified if he moves to a new school. And if he were directly contacting recruits now, while negotiating with a new school, that would be a violation. Contact with high school coaches would be permissible, but there are gray areas about what the conversation can include. He cant offer or make future promises of scholarships. He can talk "around" things, without saying them directly. Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
