LoL my bad. Briles said he didnt get offered. On the radio they reported he was offered 1.8 a year for 10 years.

Briles himself is quoted as telling his AD that he was not offered. But big deal. Not unusual to have multiple interviews.

Also not unusual to lie if you're not sure you're going to accept a new job. No reason to get your current employer hacked off before it's your ex-employer.

At Bailey's 1st & 10 this past Saturday, one of the SMU alums sitting at our table offered up this same explanation for Steve Kragthorpe's comments and still believes he's the guy who's coming to The Hilltop. The word 'smokescreen' was used often.
