SMU fans should watch Army vs. Navy
Those of you who still care about SMU football should make sure that you're free to sit on the couch for a few hours Saturday afternoon. The Army-Navy game starts at noon on Ch. 11.
I'm not reporting that Navy's Paul Johnson will be the Ponies' next coach, but there's a lot of signs that point to that being a strong, strong possibility.
You folks on board with SMU going back to option football? As a North Texas alum, I can certainly say that Johnson knows what he's doing with his new-school option offense.

don't ask me for more money until we do something.
Not a 'wow' hire that Orsini was brought in to do.
I think he's a better coach but, is this what we brought Orsini in for?

To get a winning coach? Yeah that is what he was brought here to do. Not to WOW you.

I'll take W I N instead of W O W any day or night. This is most likely better than what we could have realistically hoped for (assuming true).

I'm thinking that what you probably are thinking of as a WOW coach would probably cost us a lot more than we have to offer salary wise. If we can get a coach that can get us more than six wins a year and into a bowl most years, I'll be wowed.

What in the world would it take for some of you to say WOW? One sports blogger for CBS Sportsline equates a Paul Johnson hiring as one of the best in history and we have people mad at the program for not doing more. Once again folks, we are the worst team in college football. If it is Johnson, he has been a proven winner at every level. If he thought he could not do it here he would not be jeopardizing his career to come. I had other preferences also but this is (if it comes to pass) a good hire.
