Johnson would be Awesome

I want to preface this by saying we would be extremely lucky to get Johnson to come to SMU. Assuming the rumors are true, he would be an excellent hire. The guy has a track record, he wins with a system, not blue chip recruits, and his teams play smart, gutsy, hardworking football. I have said it before and I'll say it again, if you doubt the success of a run based system in D1 football, look at what Wake Forest has done the last two seasons in a BCS conference and look at what Air Force did this year with Calhoun. We will never get the best HS players no matter who is coaching. With Johnson, we'd have a coach who gets the most from his guys and has teams that play with heart, discipline, and desire. I think Willis would be a great fit in his system as would many of our backs. I will repeat, if we get him, we will be very lucky.
