If Johnson backs out, that's because he's going to Georgia Tech. After he beat Notre Dame -- and I don't care how bad the Irish are. Navy broke the nation's longest losing streak, and that carries a lot of clout. Plus, they won in South Bend -- he can't stay there.

But if bigbagofnothin' had this information first, he would have posted something similar. Keep in mind his mantra has been little interest in this job and he's pro-Barnett. What does that mean? Ask him.

He made a post that may have some truth to that, but one thing media likes to do is build a fear factor. And there's two reasons for that.
1. He didn't get it first.
2. He couldn't confirm it because CBS and The Sporting News appear to have better sources.

So what does he do. He lashes out with this. Anything is possible with this process. Nothing is ever clear cut.

But his mantra of no interest has faded because the search has to led to this and whatever the Kragthorpe thing was.

Obviously, somebody is interested in this job. And the names appear to better than what he is suggesting.

Suffice it to say that I am just reporting what I know about the SMU coaching search when I know it for the few people that might care what I have to say. Didn't know about what? The RUMOR that Paul Johnson may be coming to SMU. Ha ha ha. First of all - he's always been on the radar, so I knew that. Second of all - I don't know anyone with reliable info on the Paul Johnson to SMU rumor or PJ contacts and I'll readily admit that. I have always maintained that I don't know everything or everyone. What I do know though about this search - I report - Good, bad or ugly - and that includes that my research led me to believe there is a greater-than-not lack of interest in this opening. And that its the truth.

You are also way off on who I am.
