Yeah, but if you are right and SMU want's to be "special".. he could probably wait it out and get a job with some state school where recruiting and getting Juco transfers is easier. He's a hot name right now. Maybe he wouldn't get a BCS job, but he could get the job at some place like Houston..


maybe Johnson thinks he relates to a certain type of kid. That seems to be what the Navy Fan suggested. SMU wants similar kids according to all the evidence. No dirty juco types or only a very limited few here and there.

But PJ has been and is a successful head coach. And he has already won championships at one level and has turned a program around at another. Something PB hadn't done before taking the smu job.

So you think Johnson would move from Maryland to Texas for a job where the money was the same, his chance for national recognition would be same or less over going to a school with easier recruiting and more recognition because he thinks he's done all he can at Navy, but he likes dealing with only a certain quality of athlete... hmm ok

Still waiting for support of the infamous claim that Paul Johnson isn't energetic and lacks charisma. Or can I just assume that was hyperbole? Check that-made up?

I hear he has a show at the Comedy Club in Baltimore this weekend
