Without Kinkaid next year, the offense could be even worse!!!

Evidently Massey is injury prone, looks like we need to get another RB or two for next year.

Foy Munlin. And its too early to call Massey injury prone after one sprained ankle.

That's absolutely idiotic. He injured his ankle when someone fell toward him from behind. Does that mean that if you get hit once by some going the wrong way on a one-way street that YOU're a bad driver?

Next year we have Foy Munlin, Richuel Massey and Cedric Dorsey. As much as we love KK around here - and he's been an absolute warrior, as we all know - people who have been at practice every day tell me that the running game will be better next year.

I doubt it. Although KK is a warrior and I can't say enough good things about him, he may not even be among the top 3 RBs currently on this team.

I also think the O-line will be improved next year, but I've been known to be overly optimistic before.

Just a hunch. We'll see more 2 back sets with Massey and Munlin next year

You might be right. But then again, if Phillips remains the man at QB and he runs as well as advertised, maybe they stick with the 1-back offense because he presents another option (hint hint) in the backfield.

Hey, I recognize you. You're the guy who spent a couple weeks back in the spring trying to convince me that we would be better at every position this year, because we werent actually losing anyone that made a real contribution, and we had this wonderful recruiting class coming in. If you want, I can cut and paste all those post and you can recycle all the same bu11$hit for next year.

Charleston Pony, this is just a hunch, but you wont see a single thing change next year.

Bitter, outraged, enraged, fed up, frustrated, depressed, take your pick. Or just wrap it all up in the phrase "pissed off beyond words."

we will be better athletically at almost every single position on the field next year. It may take another year to really see improvement, but it will come-the issue is whether we can keep up the momentum in recruiting which is now in serious doubt.

PX: you're killing me. next year is my 30th reunion year and now I wonder whether I should even be making my annual trips just to get depressed by the state of SMU football. I keep thinking it can't get worse but then I see it happening with my own eyes. I do feel sorry for you guys having to suffer through this week after week. Admittedly this year's team doesn't have an abundance of talent, but we haven't been able to say that about any SMU football team since our return from the death penalty. There is clearly a problem with our coaching selection. What really hurts is that this unproven, 1st time head coach was given a huge raise over what his predecessors were paid! For what, 0-8 and not even competitive???

I might make a suggestion to the homecoming committee that they move the event to bball season. Moody always has more than enough empty seats to accomodate the few alumni who turn up for the event, anyways.

You need to just stay in Charleston. Foy Munlin running the ball will make you forget what the letters KK stood for.

Thank you, Stallion, for a ray of optimism -- we need those around here about now. As I posted in another thread, I hear whispers that a lot of coaches and players in east Texas seem to be really receptive to our coaches. If we can just get through this recruiting year with a good class, I think you're right that we'll turn the corner next year. Not that we'll win a bunch of games, but the indications of the young talent will emerge.

Unfortunately Prof X has me dead to rights. That's precisely why I said something to the effect that I've burned by being overly optimistic before. Still, barring injury and everything, I think Munlin, Masey and possibly even Dorsey will be an upgrade at running back. Fitzgerald has game too.
