Grobe NOT coming to Arkyland.Latest word is that Grobe has accepted sweetening offer from Wake Forest and will NOT take the Arkansas job. Arkyland is back in the coach searching mode and now Paul Johnson's name is being toss about. This is quickly turning into the football equivalent of a soap opera.
I hate the way [deleted] happens to SMU.
![]() If this is the case and Arky wants Johnson, they will get him over SMU. Not even a question. I say if Arky starts sniffing in PJ's direction, we go with plan B (or C or D or E). MOVE ON! This is getting OLD!
Here is a link with the story from the Arkansas Democrat Gazette

Right. Time to give the guy an ultimatum. We're are starting to look a little pathetic. Geaux MUSTANGS! Geaux Tigers!
We obviously haven't been doing it on the football field of late, but we are playing nose to nose with the big boys in this game. Many thanks to Steve Orsini and our generous big dollar alums. Win or lose...it's been fun.
ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. He's a N.C. native, and honestly, that place might be a perfect fit for him. PonyFans should be thrilled that Wake doesn't have an opening.
As much faith as I have in Mr. Orsini, this search is starting to look like the Astros failed efforts in signing Carlos Beltran. Remember Beltran never intended to sign with the Astros, yet the Astros let the negotiations drag on until late January when all other free agent options had signed elsewhere. I think it is time to make a decision and move on. Get a yes or no from Paul Johnson or whoever else you are interested and move on. Sign Franchione, Barnett, Neuheisel, Bowden, whoever is available interested and we can afford and let him start recruiting. At the current rate we will end up with someone that is far from our first choice and miss on this year's recruiting entirely.
Looks like this has now been confirmed by the AP with the Wake Athletic Director.
