Whatever happened to Terry Bowden?

Lowder & Ford are both bankers. Lowder may have asked Ford not to hire Bowden. It's possible, I've heard Lowder's got a large ego. This conspiracy theory doesn't explain why no one else has shown interest in Bowden. I have a former boss who works pretty closely with Lowder and he either likes him or at least won't say anything bad about him even though I've fished a little...the guy I'm talking about said he'd heard Bowden had an affair with a co-ed but didn't say if it was Lowder's daughter.

Nice guys finish last....If i'm not mistaken we're hiring a football coach, not the president of a university. Whatever his past may be, it's no worse then anyone on this message board. If he can recruit, coach, and gives a commitment to adhere to the standards set by the University, I can live with that. When did you people become holier then holy?

Don't think anyone here is holier than though. I would love to take Terry Bowden. My first choice would probably be Barnett. Just discussing why the powers that be at SMU won't talk to them.

Bottom line, Bowden, Barnett, and probably Fran and Slick Rick aren't even on the radar for us, so there really isn't much sense discussing them.
