If she really does use ponyfans as a source, she may have seen the several instances where I posted lament for the fact that we cannot seem to give this job away. And where it stands now, that still appears to be accurate.

If Dwan was right and Nutt was in play, he left us hanging for a better offer. Johnson is mulling over what are agurably three better deals (don't know if he's been offered by GT or Duke, but Navy is apparently considering a move to keep him).

It's starting to look like what we need to find is, in Orsini's words, "the best coach available" who can't get a better offer.

When Kate says "I can’t believe he doesn’t have a solid backup plan. ", is she telling us Orsini doesn't have a backup plan, or that she thinks he has one? You really can read this two different ways.

I read it as saying: I find it hard to believe Orsini does not have a back up, ie Steve Orsini most likely does have a backup plan.

There are three ways to read that statement.

1. Orsini does not have a backup plan and Kate can't believe how shortsighted that is.

2. Orsini has a backup plan but Kate thinks it is not a very good one.

3. Nobody knows if Orsini has a backup plan, but Kate love the mob boss so much she refuses to believe he doesn't.

Now, given Kate's demonstrated command of the english language, it's anybody's guess what she's trying to say. But if she were a ponyfan, it would obviously be number 3 since that is the prevailing sentiment on this board.

im new to reading kate, but to me theres not much under the surface here. just like us (and since PF isnt finding it), she doesnt know what the backup plan is either.

i rest assured of this; whatever the PJ status, SO Incorporated knows it better than we, and if it even begins to smell like old milk, a backup plan is well in the works.
