Just reading all the BS and waiting for th
e bomb to drop.

Ka-Boom!!!

So let me get this straight. We should get someone like the coach at Tyler JC for example and have him bring over 20 or so of his players over to SMU? Basically just replace our players with JC players.

Cisco JC entire D could start here, maybe except for Hud.

the only problem with going after JUCO players is that, WE HAVE NO FUKIN COACH TO RECRUIT THEM...

so it looks like were back to somewhat decent scholarship players and random walkons for spring practice

It will create some competition and make SMU a contender in 08. Face it folks, its been several weeks since PB was fired and nobody is beating down our doors. I just hope Orsini is not floating his resume. He did not know what he was getting into. All money is not good money!

terrible.

Exactly Ponydogg. That is what we have been for 20 years, terrible. Brad Franchione would be my choice, if not Partchman at Cisco JC. How would that make Orsini look when we win CUSA? He would be a genuis (spelling).

How much worse could we do? Bring in someone with a desire to make a name for himself, not just make money. We have given away enough money for 20 years, when are we gonna get some ROI? That is return on investment for you SMu grades.

Now THAT may be one of the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. There has been no commitment to actually paying a big enough salary to retain a decent coach in the past 20 years. PB was MAYBE the first effort at that. The previous coach came from East Carolina or Middle Tennessee State or some godforsaken place. No idea where Rossley even was from. We did attempt to get Bill McCartney out of Colorado coming off the death penalty, but they were still terrible then.

This is the FIRST real effort that has been made to get some real talent and a name that could bring in some recruits. There were only about 4 or 5 fairly big names being thrown around for coaches that were actually considering leaving (not counting the Grobe, Kelly, Kragthorpe, Schiano contract shopping to get bigger extensions) and we went after one of them. I say good for us. We'll get someone. We just need to keep at it.

If you had said 40 years, then yes, we did give away enough money.

I can't believe you posted this. Even I am not that [deleted]. After 20 years of what you call not putting an effort into having a football program, we are now suppose to just bring any coach we want in here because we have some money. I think we are slowly finding out that it aint gonna work. PJ was not a WOW hire, he was a good coach. I am telling you we are in trouble and the fallout will be worse than the DP. I tell you something else, Orsini is floating his resume about now. He did not know what he was getting into. He couldn't give Kate a quote on PJ or Neuheisel (spelling). Is he running scared. It is getting late in the game people. We should have just went for the scraps from the beginning. At least we would have been fed.

Only one small problem with that plan Big Daddy, the admissions office wouldn't give them any credit for any hours earned, and they would not want to come here. But thanks for playing.

We can get them in. There is not a rule against paying the admissions office some of the 10-12mil we say we have? Let's start using the money where it will work best. Hurst got in, Dennis got in, and there has been several others. We can get them in if we want to.
