He's a grossly overrated tackler...Newman has as many big hits as he does. He misses way too many tackles.

Williams has a singular focus: to blow people up. The result is he fails to wrap up way too much and misses way too many tackles. Hands down the most overrated player in the league - and it's not even close.

Sean Taylor is still faster then Roy
“When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.”- Jalen Jones

I dislike Manning and I think he's terrible, but Williams keeps getting elected to Pro Bowls based on his reputation only. He has to give up more touchdowns than any other player in the league. If Ken Hamlin weren't back there and Woodson had not been there before he would not have gotten paid.

Taylor could have been the safety that up-and-comers got compared to for years to come. It was incredible to watch that guy get better and better. If you didn't see it, and if you can find it, watch the video of the 2 INTs he made on Favre earlier this season. He came from at least 15 yards+ away to make the pick over a receiver that looked WIDE OPEN!

He was by far and away the best safety in the league. Sad what happened to him.

It's easy for you to say that - it's impossible for me to combat it, but watch the games. Newman makes big hits - and doesn't miss nearly as many tackles as Williams.

newman makes big hits (although not nearly as hard as williams, nor as many), but he doesn't miss as many as williams

Yea, it was a tragedy and really hurts the Skins. That said, since he passed away, they've moved Laron Landry(last years #6 pick overall) from SS to FS, and he looks like Taylor his rookie year. Remarkably similar, including their penchant for late hits and helmet to helmet. Anyway, the true loss is having them in the same secondary as they matured. Landry & Taylor would have been for the ages

Williams will always have a special place in my memory for his tackle of Chris Simms in the Cotton Bowl. SWEET!

Put them all in pink Jerseys an make them catch the ball with their pinky's extended. National Foo-Foo League. Pretty soon they won't be allowed to touch each other because someone might get hurt.
