I think the point is would he be interested in the SMU job for maybe double what he makes now, and run the risk of not being the golden child if you can't turn it around? If he waits another season or two, he may end up getting 3-4 times what he makes now. So while it make not seem like the money would lure him away, he may be smart to wait and get an even bigger pay day at a much more established football school.

It's like fishing. If you only have one piece of bait left, do you take whatever you can get, or do you wait until the really big fish are biting?
