*McMackin was named the Big 12 Conference's top recruiter by Rivals.com. while at Texas Tech in 2000. His defense made an immediate impactas the Red Raiders finished the 2000 campaign atop the Big 12 in pass defense.


*During his first three seasons as DC for the Seattle Seahawks, the defense jumped from 30th to eighth and the pass defense from 30th to sixth.

*McMackin spent the 1993 and `94 seasons at Miami (Fla.) under head coach Dennis Erickson. The team won two Big East Championships and ranked first in the nation in total defense, scoring defense and pass defense.
