Mike Martz = orsini's intentional leak

Postby cs09viking » Thu Jan 03, 2008 12:31 pm

the more i think about it...i wonder if SMU intentionally leaked the Martz name to force JJ's hand.

on another note, notice the text of the article says "talked".... hell, if they called Martz and he said "no" that would still qualify as "talked"...i want to hearing that they are "talking" before i get excited about MM.

I agree completely. They don't want JJ to think he's the only option, and they want to know ASAP (glad to see we're FINALLY pushing something).

I still think JJ is playing us, however....I just can't see him taking this job.

maybe orsini learned from the PJ experience - use of the time deadline plus the name drop might suggest so.

I agree, I think that this is intended to force JJ into a decision.

And the beautiful thing is that if JJ says no, we have an option in Martz that I would be very excited about.

Either way I thing things are looking better for SMU

u mean sort of like COKER and FRAN leaks to send u astray?

Hell, Cam Cameron, Bill Billick, JAX staff are all available...we have many options, but need this wound up this week so a staff can be hired and in place for some recruiting steals.

Deadlines are double-edged swords. JJ may be seriously interested with SMU, but the deadline forces him to say no.

I was thinking about this. The 72 hour deadline, if true, gives him until Saturday morning. However, that is late Friday night Hawaii time. So, JJ needs to decide by the end of Friday (for him). Although, if it is late, there wouldn't be any movement for us to see until Saturday. Still, he could make a decision any time before then.....

When was the 72-hour mandate issued?

Only if he's going to decide before 4 AM CST on Saturday will it still be Friday in Hawaii.

I just meant it would be in the middle of the night in Hawaii. We, of course, don't know when the 72 hours began either.
