the funny thing about TCU leaving C-USA. . .is that if they do go to a BCS bowl this year, a substantial portion of the payout goes to C-USA (just like with any other bowl) C-USA then would pay that out to conference teams over time meaning if TCU leaves in 2005 they acutally are GIVING money to SMU in both exit fees AND BCS bowl revenue!!! What makes it doubly ridiculous for TCU is that with their new MWC schedule they are unlikely to go to a BCS bowl again (assuming the MWC does not get an automatic BCS bid. fyi. . . the BCS will soon go away as the NCAA WILL institue a playoff system in 2010 which also adds to the crazy nature of the TCU move). As far as I'm concerned I'd love to see TCU win out, go to the Fiesta Bowl, then leave for the MWC.
Re: the funny thing about TCU leaving C-USA. . .I hate to break it to you, but SMU won't see any of that money, whether TCU stays or goes. It will be paid out this year, to the teams that are in CUSA this year. They don't stick it in a bank account and give it to SMU in 2 years.
